Teen tastes

Teen diva Britney Spears is among those who will present awards at the Teen Choice Awards 2000, airing Tuesday, Aug. 22, from 8 to 10 p.m. on Fox.

Among the acts set to perform are No Doubt, 98 Degrees and Enrique Iglesias. The awards special celebrates the hottest teen icons in film, television, music and sports — as chosen by American teen-agers. Votes were cast by those who filled out ballots in the July and August issues of Seventeen magazine or online at the magazine's Web site.

Additional celebrities scheduled to appear include Freddie Prinze Jr. ("Down To You"), Sarah Michelle Gellar ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), Sean Hayes ("Will & Grace"), Jamie Foxx ("The Jamie Foxx Show"), Rachael Leigh Cook ("She's All That"), Carson Daly (MTV's "TRL") and Justin Berfield and Christopher Masterson of the Fox comedy "Malcolm in the Middle."

Other musical artists in the lineup include Sisqo ("The Thong Song"), Usher, Hoku ("Another Dumb Blonde"), Hanson and 'N Sync. Sports celebrities on the special will include the World Wrestling Federation's superstar The Rock — straight from his appearance at the Republican National Convention — and Supercross champion Jeremy McGrath.

If you don't think you'll be able to sleep tonight without knowing more, check out the July and August issues of Seventeen magazine or point your browsers to www.seventeen.com or www.fox.com.
