Have lots of laughs with a party at Comedy Alley. If your kids like the T.V. show "Whose Line is it Anyway?" they'll love celebrating at Comedy Alley. Birthday parties include a show. You bring the birthday cake. The cost is $7 per person for the show or $10 per person for the show plus a hotdog and unlimited popcorn and sodas during the show. Most appropriate for ages 7-15.

Party guests receive a makeover, including face, nails and "glitter everywhere;" hair styling and decoration with beads, feathers and more glitter; and a glamour shot. They can also dress up in costumes available at the salon. Refreshments include cake, popcorn and soda. The salon closes to everyone but party guests.

The charge is $45 per person for kids older than 7, and $50 per person for children 7 and under. There is a five-person minimum.

Peak Experiences claims to be the largest climbing gym on the east coast.

It offers two birthday party options:

* Climb-On Party

Includes one and a half hours of climbing with a staff-to-climber ratio of 1:5, a half-hour in the party room on the mezzanine (pizza is available at $6 each from local vendors), and helmet and harness. The cost is $20 per person with a minimum of eight. A $50 deposit is required.

* Belay-On Party

Includes Peak's official belay class (covering harness outfitting, knot tying, belay/lowering technique, basic climbing instruction, and more), an all day climbing event, a half-hour in the party room on the mezzanine (pizza is available at $6 each from local vendors), harness and belay device, and a free day pass to come back and climb. The cost is $20 per person for a minimum of eight people. The minimum age is 13. A $50 deposit is required.

Paint Ball

Minimum age is 10.

The playing field is located across from Paramount's Kings Dominion, within a mile from Interstate 95. The cost per person is $25 including gear and 100 rounds of paint, or $35 including gear and 500 rounds of paint. The field can be reserved on weekdays for $200 including equipment for 10 people excluding paint or for $400 including equipment for 10 people including paint. They can accommodate parties of 20 to 30 people, but need a week's notice. If you're planning to hold your party on the weekend, it is advised that you pre-pay so they can reserve the equipment for you. Picnic tables are available if you want to bring refreshments, cake and ice cream.

LBP Paintball


Operates two fields, one in Short Pump and one in Ashland, where games are held every other Sunday for 10 or more. The minimum age is 12. The cost is $30 per person for all day play including equipment and 500 rounds of paint. Picnic tables are available. Call several days in advance to schedule.

If you have more than 14 people playing, you can reserve playing time during the week otherwise the field is open Sat. and Sun. Call in advance to schedule birthday parties. The cost is $25 per person and includes gear.

Foam Dancing



If you're planning a really big event such as a dance, check out foam dancing. Austins provides two operators and the equipment to produce a specially formulated foam that fills the dance floor waist high with bubbles. You get a little wet, but it won't damage your clothes. Austins' Foam Dance Party also can include a professional DJ and laser light show. It's a great outside event for summer. It also can be held in an inflatable area. Different foam scents are available. Call for specific pricing information. Four hours costs about $2,000.

Limousine Services

Adventure Limousine


An eight-passenger limousine rents for $70 per hour plus gratuity (standard is 20%). Three-hour minimum.

Celebrities International Limousine



The charge for an eight-passenger limousine ranges from $50 to $120 per hour depending on the number of hours, days of the weekend, drop-off location, etc.

In Style Limousine LTD



A six-passenger limousine costs $125 for one hour, $150 for two hours and $65 per hour for three to seven hours. An eight-passenger limousine is $75 per hour for three to seven hours. A 10-passenger limousine costs $85/hour for three to seven hours. The gratuity is not included in the price.

Stewart's Limousine Service



The point-to-point charge is $145 for a six-passenger limousine, $165 for an eight-passenger limousine and $195 for a 10-passenger limousine. Point-to-points must be completed within one hour. The hourly rate is $75 for a six-passenger limousine, $90 for an eight-passenger limousine and $110 for a 10-passenger limousine with a three hour minimum. The gratuity is not included in the price.
