Ted Leo and the Pharmacists at the Canal Club

Big week at the Canal Club — might as well pitch a tent outside and live on trail mix for a few days. Canal Club's music rally culminates with Ted Leo and the Pharmacists (often rendered charmingly as TL/Rx). Leo plays big every time he plays Richmond — it's that foundation of punk and politics that goes over so well here, along with a joyful, guitar-driven indie pop, which also goes over well here. And he plays with Prabir and the Substitutes, who live here. The show is Tuesday, June 9, at 8 p.m. $13-$15. 643-2582. — Brandon Reynolds
