Tacky Lights Tours

Two great tastes that go great together are Christ’s birthday and tacky lights. It’s a marriage made in heaven. I guess you could make the argument that the gaudy glow of store-bought twinkles represents the crass commercialization of the season, but that’s humbug. Those flickering illuminations let everyone know that Santa Claus is coming to town, whether you like it or not. Or maybe it’s a modern tribute to the Star of Bethlehem. Whatever your take, Richmond’s tacky light tours are all about radiating the season with good cheer. Best of all, those scintillations bind the community together. Each garish display of radiance isn’t a solitary act — it’s a team effort to bring the season’s tidings to one and all. And like Dominion Power, we all should be thankful. For one option, check out Winn Transportation for its Tacky Lights tours by calling 358-9466 or visiting winnbus.com.
