Sugar and Gold at the Triple

Touring alongside Of Montreal this past year when that band's frontman, Kevin Barnes, introduced his effeminate alter ego “Georgie Fruit,” and began experimenting with a hybrid of glam rock and sex funk, you would think it would almost be mandatory for any opening or supporting band to be just as flamboyantly silly as their headliners. Fortunately for the unrestrained ensemble they found a great match in the jovial, all-night hedonism of newcomers Sugar and Gold. With syncopating synthesizers and pumping percussion, these scantily clad, androgynous stage performers are all about some slick dance beats. With their debut “CrA"me” scheduled for release, Sugar and Gold perform their own headlining gig at the Triple on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 10 p.m. $5. 359-7777.
