For our Seventh Annual Music Issue, we decided to finally give the people something they could listen to as well as see. So we're releasing Sounds of Richmond #1, our first CD compilation of music by Richmond bands. We've got 14 artists delivering folk, rock, hip-hop, bluegrass and a couple of styles requiring a lot of horns.

Pick up your copy at our CD release party on Thursday, April 24, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Capital Ale House Music Hall.

The party features live performances from Fight the Big Bull, Richmond Afrobeat Movement and Special Ed and the Shortbus. Admission is $5.

The Sounds of Richmond CDs will be available at Plan 9 Music and elsewhere. Read about the bands in our Seventh Annual Music Issue hitting stands April 23 or here at www.styleweekly.com.
