Style Takes National Honors
Style Weekly’s “Rock ’n’ Roll Hotel” feature — which included a cover story about Richmond’s lost ’80s movie, a party at the Jefferson Hotel and a showing at the Byrd Theatre — was named the second place “Innovation/Format Buster” in the AltWeekly Awards on July 22. In addition, Style Art Director Jeff Bland won second place for his editorial layout of the 2010 Power List. Awards were announced in New Orleans at the annual convention of the Association of Alternative Newsmedia. More than 1,000 entries were submitted to the contest from 88 publications. Style competes in the under-50,000 circulation category.
