Style Photographer Wins National Award

Scott Elmquist, Style Weekly's photography editor, captured first place for photography in the Association for Alternative Newsweeklies' annual AltWeekly Awards, announced June 26 in Tucson, Ariz.

The contest recognizes the best in writing, photography and design among alternative weeklies across the United States and Canada. Style competes in the under-50,000 circulation category.

Elmquist's portfolio, which includes a portrait of a grieving family member during a vigil (pictured) and Brenda Lawler of Faith Farms in the midst of turkeys and chickens, is scheduled to appear in the new volume of ”Best AltWeekly Writing and Design.”
