Style Art Director Receives Design Honors 

Work on the Midseason Arts Issue earned Style Weekly Art Director Jeff Bland an Award of Excellence in the 32nd edition Best of News Design Competition.

The award, in the 49,000 and under circulation category, was given in the feature design pages category.

Bland's work on Belle magazine, Style's monthly sister publication, also received accolades from judges. He received three Awards of Excellence in the photography/single photos, illustration category, which included art that accompanied columns on alternative approaches to health and a first-person essay on gardening as meditation.

The international juried competition is sponsored by the Society for News Design and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
