Style & Substance: Don't Call It a Latte

Somehow the best latte in town ended up with the most humble name. "Espresso with milk" is how it's billed on the blackboard at the Black Hand Coffee Co. in the Museum District. Barista/owner Robert Fisher skillfully makes each work of art with beans he roasts himself every couple of days. If you're expecting some impressive pedigree, you won't get it. Fisher says he taught himself how to make designs in the cream. Customers are impressed: "I witnessed a heart with an arrow going through it," testifies one regular at the bar. $2.75 each, 606 N. Sheppard St.
