Staying Power Forward

In February 2007, former-NBA-baller-turned-smooth-jazz-guitarist Wayman Tisdale fell down a flight of stairs at his home, breaking his leg. Doctors then discovered a cancerous cyst, which might have gone undetected had the former basketball player kept his balance. The injury was truly a lucky break. After a brief hiatus, the smooth jazz artist resumed his career in January and released a new album, "Rebound,"this week. It's his eighth release since his retirement from the NBA in 1997, proving the importance of getting second shots. The tall Texan comes to Fridays at Sunset June 6 at 6:30 p.m. $20.
