Take some good old-fashioned honky-tonk music, combine it with some psychedelic jam sessions and add in the high energy and hilarity of some bearded crazies and you get Cletus Belle, Neckbone Belle and Rusty Lugs, otherwise known as the Southern Belles. With a knack for having fun, this twangy local group provides plenty of entertaining music to get a hoedown started, complete with energetic, bluegrass-inspired versions of popular classic and contemporary songs. The Southern Belles perform at Cary Street Cafe on Friday, Dec. 23, at 10 p.m. $7. 359-3647.
