So you think you're funny, huh?

Of the comedians assembled for the phenomenally successful "The Original Kings of Comedy" tour and film, D.L. Hughley was probably the least deserving of the title. He was probably filling a spot that Chris Rock or Chris Tucker (he used to tell jokes) deserved. Of the four (Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey and Bernie Mac), Hughley's act seemed to be stuck at a street level, consisting mostly of rapid observations, particularly of unlucky audience members, his insults repeatedly punctuated by his trademark "huh?" Years after that film and the cancellation of his sitcom "The Hughleys," he's finally earned his crown by staying in the spotlight with a talk show on Comedy Central and making hilarious and thoughtful appearances on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher." Hughley will be at the Funny Bone Feb. 8-10. $27. 521-8900.
