Que Pasa's cozy fire, Jannequin Bennett leaves Ellwood Thompson's and more.

Mug Spot
Church Hill has another java spot now that John Sanchez has started selling several types of Rostov's coffee with light breakfast fare at his Que Pasa restaurant. Open every morning at 6, the meticulously restored building has a roaring fire — a lovely rarity — along with Wi-Fi, sausage-and-egg bagel sandwiches and Sanchez's humor to start the day. When he's not building new restaurants elsewhere, including a hot project coming to downtown Grace Street, he hopes Richmond diners search out affordable, Latin-inspired food in his sharp but underappreciated business on the hill. 623 N. 25th St., 402-7502.

Morsels
Ellwood Thompson's: Chef Jannequin Bennett has departed; chef Michael King has returned.

Credo's Park Avenue CafAc: Closed after the briefest run in Richmond restaurant history. Musician Mitchel Creasy chose not to annoy the neighbors, some of whom are famously intolerant city dwellers, by playing during dinner.

Bank: Now serving Sunday brunch, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., featuring a build-your-own-Bloody-Mary bar and full brunch menu with beverage specials in the glorious restored building at 1005 E. Main St. Vault, the lounge, is coming this spring. 648-3070. www.bankandvault.com.

Avenue 805: Sip Oregon pinot noir and other varietals from Roanoke Valley Wine Company while tasting five courses, paired to complement the grapes, at a special wine dinner March 11 at 6 p.m. By reservation only. $48 per person plus tax and gratuity. 805 N. Davis Ave. 353-2505.
