Everyone loves rock 'n' roll. But Joan Jett loves a little harder than most. (Perhaps rumored ex-girlfriend Carmen Electra can elaborate.) Since her debut as a member of The Runaways in the 1970s, the raven-haired rocker has fought for her right to play with the big boys. The group eventually disbanded, and its efforts were rarely taken seriously by U.S. rock critics. Instead of complaining, Jett went solo and kicked in the door separating the women from the men who rock, leaving it hanging on the hinges as she stood in the doorway with her ax and a halter top. The singer responsible for anthems such as "I Love Rock n' Roll" and "Light of Day" performs at the 12th annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at Brown's Island with National Product, Red and Evans Blue Saturday, May 3, at noon. Tickets are $15-$20. 794-6700.
