Based on the children’s stories of Dr. Seuss, “Seussical” is a magical musical showcase that brings to life the classic Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Yertle the Turtle and Gertrude McFuzz. The story involves Horton the Elephant’s endeavors to protect the people of Who-ville, who live on a tiny speck of dust. And of course, the Cat in the Hat will be on hand to narrate the story and cause smirking mischief. “Seussical” has delighted young audiences on Broadway for years and the show finally comes to Richmond under the direction of Chase Kniffen. “Seussical” opens April 27 at the Empire Theatre and runs through May 20. $19-$34. 282-2620.
