If you know where to look, you can find caravans of singer-songwriters wandering up and down the East Coast. They're our wandering minstrels, our bards and poets and all. Anyway, they keep on the move. So it's no surprise that Richmonders Easterly and Fields didn't meet until they were both in school in Florida. In any event, Easterly's found time to cut two albums in her sojourns along the coast. She and Fields drop in at Poe's Pub for some modern minstrelsy, July 22 at 9:30 p.m. $5. 648-2120.
Wonder Twinz Celebrity Weekend
Former Richmonders and Atlanta entrepreneurs The Wonder Twinz Sabrina Rowe and Sharlinda Rowe-Parker return to their hometown to host an "All White Affair" at The Matrixx Room (225-8686) with 112, Jagged Edge and Jason Ford, July 22 at 9 p.m. On July 23, the Wonder Twinz come to The Hyperlink Café (254-1942) for another night of performances with 112, Jagged Edge and Mumeet Daddy at 10 p.m. Tickets for both events are $20 at the door.
And the Band Name of the Week Is
Tone Ghosting from Washington, D.C. The idea of sound manipulation is a good hint that Tone Ghosting (alias Jeff Bagato, alias DJ Panic) is performing for an 804noise event. And so he is, along with The Trust Riots and Richmond's own freeform noisemakers Birds in the Meadow, July 23 at the ADA Gallery at 7 p.m. $3. 644-0100.
