Don't be fooled by the fact that Screaming Females singer and guitarist Marissa Paternoster looks likes she could fit in your pocket. She may have a pint-sized adorability to her, but the chick has the power to rip your head off when she and her New Jersey-based trio take the stage. With a furious shredding ability on guitar and scorching shout-sung vocals, the band's blitzkrieg garage punk is a refreshing middle-finger against so many of today's twee indie acts. Coming off a tour opening for Jack White's Dead Weather last summer after releasing their latest album “Power Move,” Screaming Females are scheduled to play their own headlining gig at Gallery5 on Wednesday, April 7, at 7 p.m. $5.
