Mandolinero player Sam Bush, one of the pioneers of newgrass, plays a lot of festivals. His is a feel-good sound, an upbeat sort of thing that suits his Richmond appearance. The Science Museum of Virginia holds a special On Track for the Cure benefit concert in its Garner Pavilion with proceeds benefiting Virginia Commonwealth University's Massey Cancer Center. Featuring music conducted by Bush and his bluegrass band, as wells as Americana outfit the Waybacks, the show is Thursday, June 11, at 7 p.m. $20-$25. 2500 W. Broad St. 897-3004. — Lauren Nicole Hill
