Originally from Leeds, England, Rusko (real name Christopher Mercer) discovered the world of dub step and made his musical debut with the production duo Digital Mystikz. Rusko’s music style veers away from the dark and serious side, and instead brings a fun, energetic approach to the genre, which has helped to pull in loyal fans. His hit, “Cockney Thug,” has been played by worldwide outlets, including the BBC, and has been compared to artists such as Santigold, Trouble Andrew and Hot Chip. Rusko performs at the National on Monday, Feb. 6, at 8 p.m. $25. 612-1900.
