Summer officially comes to a close this weekend, so naturally, that means an all-out party before life revolves around cooler temperatures, back-to-school schedules and other fall activities. And because Richmond loves fireworks, the folks at Rocketts Landing are holding “Rocketts Red Glare.” The family-friendly event will be held on the James River at Rocketts Landing on Monday, Sept. 5, at 7:30 p.m. The Richmond Symphony Orchestra will play Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” during the fireworks, which begin after sunset. Free. 788-6891.
