Rock and Remembrance

With the media crush that followed the disappearance and death of Emily Kate Robertson in the summer, the public learned some things about her life. More than six months after the tragedy, a fuller picture of who she was emerges through the music she loved. Robertson's family wanted to put together a benefit concert for a scholarship in her name and asked for bands. Several punk, metal and funk bands answered the call. Among them, rock prodigies Duchess of York, Beyond the Dead and indie-rock four-piece Sana Rouge. The River City Remembrance starts Friday, Jan. 11, at 6 p.m. at Alley Katz. The $10 cover goes toward the Emily Kate Robertson Foundation. 643-2816.
