Taking its cues from My Bloody Valentine and the Jesus and Mary Chain, Ringo Deathstarr doesn’t mind a little excessive volume. Much like fellow contemporary shoe gazers the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, this Austin, Texas, trio delivers some serious pop melodies underneath all the skuzzy noise. With songs that are short, sweet and unabashedly delivered from a young person’s perspective, Ringo Deathstarr is scheduled to perform at Sprout supporting its recent full-length debut, “Colour Trip,” on Tuesday, July 5, at 10 p.m. 592-5771.
