Re: “The 13 Most Haunted Places in Richmond

There's an abandoned graveyard behind Lebanon, Va, which was rediscovered and publicized in 1997 or so. The newspaper guy there (who found it) called it "The Lost Confederate Graveyard" because so many Rebel and ex-Rebel soldiers were buried there. Every year somebody reports blue lanterns, whisperings and odd fogs there at night. The reporter got a huge grant from the Va govt to restore and maintain the graveyard as a memorial - but the politicians in Lebanon refused to accept the money. A delegate (Bud Phillips) had to go down there and insist they take it! Well, they did clear it off but didn't maintain it. So now the graveyard is "lost" again, and sure enough, some nights Confederate dead walk around the tombstones. This isn't a joke. Those Lebanon politicians of the time, who dishonored the Confederate dead, have experienced horrible things ever since.
