There are as many responses to tragedy as there are tragedies themselves: Some people get angry. Some turn to family and friends for support. Some just grab a drink. Others decide on a more creative approach, expressing their emotions artistically. Marking the April anniversary of the 2007 Virginia Tech shootings, Gallery5 hosts the touring visual arts exhibit, “Blacksburg Reflects: Artistic Journeys of Healing Following the Virginia Tech Tragedy,” on April 11. A special reception at 7 p.m. benefits the Bereavement Coalition of Central Virginia, featuring numerous works of art as a well as film screenings and theater productions. $10-$15. 353-3799. — Mike Hilleary
