Oklahoma City’s Red City Radio, a name spun from William S. Burroughs’ spoken word album “Dead City Radio,” is a welcome kick in the ass for the punk genre. Never wallowing in self-pity with woe-is-me whining, this hometown-loving foursome channels all kinds of impressive, rallying rebelliousness, highlighted by off-with-their-heads hooks and graveled vocal bellows. Falling right in line with the works of fellow rockers Gaslight Anthem, Red City Radio offers plenty of nostalgia for a life and home you never had. Touring behind its debut full-length, “The Dangers of Standing Still,” Red City Radio is scheduled to perform at the Empire Lounge on Monday, June 6. 344-3323.
