RavenCon is a three-day science fiction, fantasy and horror convention that brings together artists, writers, dealers — and plenty of colorful characters. The conclave features art demonstrations, panel discussions and workshops, along with costume contests and an all-day gaming room. Weekend guests include authors Kevin Anderson of the Saga of Seven Suns series, Rebecca Moesta of the Crystal Doors and Star Challengers trilogies, and artist Jennie Breeden, creator of the web comic “The Devil’s Panties.” Numerous other sci-fi and fantasy writers also will appear. Music will be provided by Bella Morte. RavenCon takes place at the Holiday Inn Koger Center from April 5-7. $15-$30 per day or $40-$45 for a weekend pass. ravencon.com.
