While each is primarily known for his own unique punk aesthetic, front men Chuck Ragan of Florida's Hot Water Music, Ben Nichols of Tennessee's Lucero and Tim Barry of Avail nevertheless will spend the next few months taking a more stripped-down approach to their louder, live sets. They've all toured together with their bands, uniting the PBR-punk subculture all along the East Coast — to much sweaty acclaim. Barry's been touring with his acoustic self for a while now, but how will the others unplug their work? Sweaty, but mellow? The trio of punk songwriters comes to the Canal Club Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m. $10-$12. 643-2582.
