Proving Domestic Partnerships Can Make It

The last time the Barksdale Theatre put on the "The Odd Couple," it was before an audience full of polyester pants, butterfly collars and platforms. The year was 1973. A television show with the same name graced ABC's Friday-night lineup and gas was 38.5 cents a gallon. Now, 34 years later, the names and faces have changed, but the story is the same. It's the one about the neat guy and the sloppy guy, drawn together by unfortunate circumstance and trying to make the best of it. Perhaps, years later, there will still be a few polyester butts filling the seats at Hanover Tavern Friday, June 29, at 8 p.m. Through Aug. 12. Tickets are $34-$38. Call 282-2620 or visit www.barksdalerichmond.org.
