San Diego indie rockers Pinback — the brainchild of songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Armistead Burwell Smith IV and Rob Crow — released their self-titled debut in early 1999, scoring immediate critical success backed by their popularity in West Coast indie-rock circles. After a string of releases, Pinback’s fourth full-length album, “Autumn of the Seraphs,” released in 2007, won rave reviews from NPR and Rolling Stone. The group’s new album, “Information Retrieved” came out in October. Pinback performs at the Canal Club on Saturday, March 16, at 8 p.m. $15-$18. thecanalclub.com.
