People’s Blues of Richmond at the Camel

Thursday, July 25

PBR was born in the wrong era. Its bursting-at-the-seams party train owes more to the hedonistic indulgences of the early ’70s than the no-fun, morose resignations of today’s politically correct fascists. And more power to ’em. The group’s bluesy, classic rock spirituals are a welcomed dose of penicillin in a sea of suffocating, shoe-gazing syphilis. PBR celebrates the release of its new CD, “Good Time Suicide,” with the Northerners and Mission South at the Camel, 1621 W. Broad St., on Thursday, July 25. Doors open at 9 p.m. The $7 admission includes a copy of the band’s new CD. thecamel.org.
