The Pat Russell Band is the sound of an employee taking his job and shoving it. There’s nothing high falutin’ about the group’s blue-collar, barroom country because its cake doesn’t need icing. All it wants are some cold beers and a little romantic attention. A million and one bar bands have gone down this country-rock road, but lead singer and guitarist Pat Russell and his no-nonsense crew — including bassist Mick Smith, lead guitarist Tyler Carlo and timekeeper Lee Sykes — do it with a just-got-paid gusto that separates them from the pack. Start the weekend off guzzling down the tunes with the Pat Russell Band on Friday, Dec. 5, at Sharky’s Bar & Billiards. The show begins at 9 p.m. Free for ladies, with a $5 admission for gentlemen. sharkysinnsbrook.net.
