Out of Town: Van Halen in C-ville

Now this is to be taken with a grain of salt the size of an eight-ball, since Van Halen has rescheduled its Charlottesville performance twice, owing to Eddie's six weeks of medical tests. But the avatars of the '80s L.A. party lifestyle are once again on the move -- David Lee Roth has been reported scampering across the stage, and all seems to be blissful for the members. They're coming to the John Paul Jones Arena Friday, May 2, at 8 p.m. But it's better to see them now anyway, because the band was inducted last month into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Brings some sort of respectability to the proceedings. $49.50-$149.50. (888) JPJ-TIXS or visit www.johnpauljonesarena.com.
