Next Year, "Gateway Mars"

night18_lede_asia_148.jpg
Last year Gallery5 tackled the culture of that adorable little country, Russia. This year the entire continent gets hung on the walls with "Gateway Asia 2007," a month of art and events kicking off with a First Friday opening May 4, 7-11 p.m. In addition to Javanese music, Gujarat dance and a lion dance parade, Velocity Comics showers us with manga. And, right up there on those walls, there are works by international artists Erjun Zhao, Nathalie Pham and Lucian Dulfan. The rest of the month is all Asian, with lectures, music and an Asian fair.
