New Potato Caboose at Toad's Place

In the mid- to late-'80s, New Potato Caboose played gigs with the likes of Widespread Panic, Blues Traveler, the Dave Matthews Band and even a little group called Phish, all of whom at the time were the opening acts. Though Caboose members helped legitimize the modern jam band concept, playing shows three hours long that veered into all kinds of noodling rhythms, the band's longevity came to an end. But 15 years later, New Potato Caboose performs a special reunion show at Toad's Place on Saturday, Dec. 27, at 7:30 p.m. with Indecision. $15-$18. 648-8623. — Mike Hilleary
