With a handful of musically inclined associates rotating in and out to fill his supporting lineup, Netherfriends mastermind and multi-instrumentalist Shawn Rosenblatt is an evident fan of open-door policies. Hoping his fans share the same kind of sentiment, the Chicago-based songwriter embarks on an effort to write and record a song in each state in the United States within the next year. Fitting in gigs wherever he can get them, including dwellings, Rosenblatt delivers the kind of layered, Beach Boys pop to a lo-fi setting, one that feels like it was crashed on for a good night's sleep. Featuring plenty of sing-a-long harmonies and smart melodies, Netherfriends are scheduled to perform a house party at 1302 W. Cary St. at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 30. myspace.com/netherfriends.
