My Everything Is Caught in My Zipper

Less fashion and more modern fabric art that just happens to be shaped like people — designer Cat Chow uses material as the message. A gown made from a single zipper or a dress of $1 bills, her designs are more concerned with statement than with being machine-washable. Which is good, because dollar bills don't breathe. Quirk Gallery hosts "Moments/Momentum," a show of her latest works, which look a lot like records made of leather, plastic and nails, opening with a reception with Chow Friday, May 4, 6-10 p.m. Through June 24. 644-5450.
