MV and EE at the Triple

With bands such as I'm From Barcelona featuring up to 30 members, sometimes it feels like there's some secret competition to land the largest number of people in a single band. MV & EE gets up there, with 22 musicians. Walking the nebulous line of post-psychedelic and traditional Indian music, it's hard to imagine how the group's dual centerpiece, Matt ‘MV’ Valentine and Erika ‘EE’ Elder, manages to manipulate the freak-folk atmosphere of their arrangements into something accessible for one little venue. Catch them at the Triple on Friday, Jan. 23, at 10 p.m. $7-$10. 359-7777. — Alexander Chang
