Summer’s the best time to be outdoors and the best time to watch movies. Movies on the Avenues, a series of outdoor movie nights on the big screen, happens Fridays this summer with family-friendly flicks such as “Puss in Boots,” “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” and “Kung Fu Panda 2.” Pre-movie fun includes food, beverages and kids’ activities with Betsy Q, master juggler Jonathan Austin and Magic and RVA Hoop House. Also providing entertainment are Jamie the Cartoonist, Bonnie the Bunny and Seymour from the Children’s Museum of Richmond. Movies on the Avenues kicks off with “Puss in Boots” on Friday, June 29, at the Westhampton School playing fields. Activities begin at 7:30 p.m. and film starts at 8:30.
