More Debate Welcomed on Creation/Evolution

Thanks for letting somebody from the creationist/intelligent design side of the creation/evolution debate speak for himself ("God vs. Jim Sparks," News & Features, June 20). This is the first time that I've seen a Richmond publication not simply put words in their mouths and otherwise misrepresent what advocates for intelligent design believe.

The side-by-side format, letting the spokesmen from both sides answer the same questions, was also refreshingly fair. The only problem with the interview is that it was too short. The science involved in the debate is incredibly complex. A less-than-one-page interview doesn't do it justice. The arguments of both men need a lot more space to be sufficiently explained for the average non-scientist to understand the issues and evidence involved. But again, thanks for taking the first step.
