Monacan Hill makes noisy rock. Best of all, it’s the type of lo-fi, keep-it-simple-stupid rock that weeds people out so you don’t have to. While I don’t think it’s intentional, the group’s Mummies-meets-the-Stones, jumped-in-the-alley-by-Darby-Crash sound is the bridge too far for sensitive types. Playing as part of Radio Rubber Room’s traveling local music showcases since the Republic closed, Monacan Hill and fellow line-in-the-sand drawers Tungs play Sunday at Emilio’s downtown, 1847 W. Broad St. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free.
