Grammy-winning singer superstar Melissa Etheridge defined the ’90s music scene in a way no artist of that time could match. Etheridge since has released numerous gold- and platinum-certified albums, battled breast cancer, become an advocate for gay rights, won an Academy Award for best song, performed on Broadway in Green Day’s hit musical, “American Idiot,” and still found the time to create attention-grabbing music. Etheridge performs at SnagAJob Pavilion as part of the Innsbrook After Hours series Thursday, Aug. 4, at 8 p.m. $17-$20. innsbrookafterhours.com.
