A super group of Richmond melody makers, the Mekong Xpress and the Get Fresh Horns feature some of the city’s funkiest, dance-floor generators for a night to help you physically manifest the good, the bad and ugly of Valentine’s Day. Each of these musicians has booty-sweat pedigrees, having played with hometown favorites the Big Payback, Beast Wellington, the New Belgians and the DJ Williams Projekt to name a few. The group takes gyration enabling to realms mere mortals can only dream of. If you want to celebrate the hallmark holiday by busting a move, this will be the gig to do it. The Mekong Xpress and the Get Fresh Horns play Friday, Feb. 14, at Cary Street Café. Doors open at 10 p.m. Free. carystreetcafe.com.
