A product of a creative-writing major and the Boston folk circuit, songwriter Meg Hutchinson has a knack for the kind of easygoing acoustics and keyboard playing that feels like the soundtrack to a perpetual cycle of rainy day naps. With a jazzy, Shawn Colvin-Norah Jones-inflected vocal delivery, this consistently calming musical artist has won numerous songwriter awards since her 2004 debut, “The Crossing,” including one from the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Supporting her latest full-length album, “The Living Side,” Hutchinson is scheduled to perform at Ashland Coffee and Tea on Thursday, March 10, at 8 p.m. $15-$20. 798-1702. — Mike Hilleary
