May Be Funny

You may recognize him as the big man with big jokes from the first season of "Last Comic Standing." Rumor has it Ralphie May got robbed of first place, but not long afterward, he landed a coveted top 10 spot on the Billboard comedy charts. May is Southern-bred with a hip-hop delivery style, steering head on into topical subjects with uninhibited rhetoric and lighthearted commentary. From midgets to mullets and from the pope to Rachael Ray, he covers a lot of ground. May boasts being the only comedian in history to record two specials in one night, "Prime Cut" and "Girth of a Nation," a sizeable accomplishment. He plays Richmond's Funny Bone April 3-6. $17-$20. 521-8900.
