Marshe Wyche is a woman on a mission — many missions. "Wake up early, eat good food, work hard and check off as many things as possible," the 28-year-old says. "You're only young for so long."

Speaking from Denver, she's ecstatic describing recent finds on a thrifting trip with business partner Casey Longyear — a former Top 40 Under 40 recipient — more than a thousand miles from home. "We've knocked out 25 stores in five days," she says, laughing. The pair takes pride in scouring the globe for pre-loved treasures that aren't your average secondhand fare. "It's so great when you are shopping and see something you know one of your customers would want. I see an item and I just imagine them with it on," Wyche says. "Fulfilling the need to accessorize and help them present their personalities is amazing."

The self-proclaimed "biggest Richmond cheerleader in the world" has boundless energy and uses it to benefit others — her customers, employees or the hundreds of artists and musicians who have showcased their work at the shop since it opened in 2007.

Five years ago, she was sharing a twin bed with Longyear, living in the store. With no loan assistance and zero debt, she's created a space that fosters community and embraces the creative vibe of the city. "We're not just a store, we're a lifestyle," she says. Wyche has supported countless nonprofits such as Camp Diva and Girls Rock!RVA through shop-for-a-cause events. And she hopes her entrepreneurial spirit will inspire others, she says: "We want people to know you can be young and get things done."
