Marshall Crenshaw broke through to critical fame with his still-incredible 1982 self-titled debut and its catchy pop hit, “Someday, Someway.” For 30 years, the bespectacled troubadour has been entertaining audiences with upbeat retro and folk-rock sounds. While his music has been described as classic power pop, it also moves across genres, and with his most recent album, 2009’s “Jaggedland,” Crenshaw continues the intimate lyrics and riveting guitar hooks that his fans have loved for years. One of our favorite wastes of time, the great Marshall Crenshaw performs at Ashland Coffee and Tea on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 8 p.m. $25-$30. 798-1702.
