Indie rock band Manchester Orchestra was already creating a buzz back in 2006, well before the group’s rise to stardom. With only a few songs under its belt, the group was invited to play the South by Southwest and Lollapalooza festivals, winning fans from around the country. The 2009 release of “Mean Everything to Nothing” — and its incredibly catchy single “I’ve Got Friends” — made the band a household name in rock circles. Being compared to acts such as Brand New, the Weakerthans and Death Cab for Cutie only gave the band more critical acclaim, sold-out tours and plenty of new fans. 2011 saw the release of its newest album, “Simple Math,” which has already been called one of the group’s best.
