Lucero at Friday Cheers

With lines like, “I'm a sucker for pretty eyes,” Lucero can't resist the charm. Which explains the group's popularity in Richmond amongst the PBR set. Led by frontman Ben Nichols, this country-rock ensemble has built quite the following with its jangly melodies and lyrics that make you feel as though you're sitting inside a broken heart. Lucero's latest full-length offering, “Rebels, Rogues and Sworn Brothers,” attains nearly Springsteen levels of soul and resilience. Coming to Brown's Island with Farm Vegas for Friday Cheers, Lucero plays June 19 at 6 p.m. Free. 788-6466. www.venturerichmond.com. — Lauren Nicole Hill
