There's not much to go on in a back story when it comes to Richmond's pop outfit Lubec. Primarily comprised of guitarist and singer Eddie Charlton and drummer Brandon Martin — with perhaps a few stand-in collaborators — this local duo delivers some seriously catchy garage tunes, full of fuzzy, surf-inspired distortion, drawing from the sunnier influence of early Weezer. Judging solely on such available lo-fi gems as “Gang Knife Battles,” “Run With What You've Found” and “Your Magic Wand,” one would hope this still unsigned act at least has an EP for purchase. Make a point to find out more about Lubec when it performs at the Camel on Sunday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. $5.
